S.O.E. flexible resins
in two basic series, both based on advanced polymerization
and hydrogenation technologies, that open the way to
new concepts, developments, and solutions in plastic
products.
The S.O.E.-SS
series - creating a quiet revolution in flexible
plastic products
S.O.E.-SS
flexible resins are selectively hydrogenated styrene-butadiene
block copolymers. Their unique characteristics have
brought fast-rising demand in rapidly expanding applications.
The S.O.E.-SO
series - under advanced development
S.O.E.-SO flexible
resins are selectively hydrogenated butadiene block
copolymers. They are currently under advanced-stage
development and investigation of their performance in
potential applications. For information on the SO series

S.O.E.-SS
characteristics and applications
Salient characteristics
Soft, smooth, supple touch throughout a broad temperature
range - equalling or exceeding that of fine-quality
flexible PVC (f-PVC).
- Substantially
higher scratch and wear resistance than f-PVC and
TPO.
- Characteristic
stress-strain hysteresis, essentially matching that
of f-PVC.
- Glass transition near room temperature, enabling
excellent vibration and impact absorption.
- Excellent resistance to heat and weathering.
- Capability for high filler content, facilitating
use as base polymer.
- Excellent compatibility with full range of thermoplastic
resins, elastomers, and olefins.
- Low specific gravity.
- High transparency, and freedom from bleeding due
to absence of plasticizer.
- High process versatility; capability for foaming,
blow molding, calendering, casting, and extrusion.
Typical applications
- Artificial leather "skin" layers, by
calendering process
- Foams - impact-absorbing, shoe-sole, vibration-damping,
sound-absorbing
- Flexible low-current cord sheathing - flame-retardant
and non-flame-retardant
- Tubes and hoses
- Inorganic fillers binder
- Injection-molding elastomer-compounds modifier
for wear and scratch resistance
- Asphalt modifier
- Adhesives base component
