The dramatically increased thermal stability of the Asaflex™ i Series is the result of advanced stabilizing technology developed by Asahi Kasei, as the logical next step in clear styrenics performance. It imparts far higher thermal stability than the conventional anti-oxidation technology, with no loss in the high transparency and impact resistance of the clear styrenic resin.

The i Series reduces thermal-history gelation during processing, and the occurrence of fisheye formations and scorching in the processed plastic product. It also enables the use of higher process temperatures in film and sheet production, for higher production rates, and eliminates the need for GPPS or other purging resins in the event of prolonged equipment shutdown. The end result is higher process productivity, yield, and product quality.
