Tech guide Asaflex
May 26 , 2010

Asaflex™ blends with GPPS or SC provide superior impact strength in sheets,
which can be further enhanced by adding Tufprene™.

Impact strength of extruded sheets from Asaflex™ blends - Asaflex™/GPPS and Asaflex™/SC

By increasing the content of Asaflex™, sheet with superior impact strength can be obtained.
Higher transparency is generally obtained with the Asaflex™/SC* blends.

*SC™ Polymer: Styrenic Copolymer from PS Japan Corp.. Similar to Asaflex™ in refraction index, for sheet transparency significantly higher than attainable with any GPPS.

Small additions of Tufprene™ 125 further increase the impact strength, as shown here for blends containing 50 wt% Asaflex™.
Higher transparency is obtained with SC than with GPPS.
